About

A platform for Portugal's AI communities.

Porto AI Week runs 14–18 September 2026. It isn't a conference with a hallway track — it's an umbrella that lets independent communities, companies and organizers put their gatherings on one shared map, in one shared week, in one city.

Five tracks hold the week today: AI Builders, AI Growth, AI Creators, AI Founders and AI Society. The architecture is open — when a new track is needed, it joins.

People first

The week is the visible outcome. The connections are the product — they keep going after everyone flies home.

Decentralized by design

No single stage, no single curator. Anyone can organize under the umbrella, anywhere in the city.

Open to newcomers

Most gatherings are free. If you're curious about AI and new to the room, you're the person we built this for.

Porto as the venue

Studios, labs, kitchens, rooftops and riverside rooms instead of a convention centre.

04Why Porto

A city small enough to actually meet everyone.

Porto's AI scene already meets — at Show & Tell nights, CTO dinners, coworking days and studio demos. What it never had was a single week where all of it happens at once, in walking distance, on one calendar.

That's the whole idea. Everything below is real and confirmed today, and the numbers move every week as hosts add their gatherings.

Gonçalo Hall

Gonçalo is the founder of NomadX — the leading media and events brand for the global builder and digital nomad economy — and the official lead organizer of Porto Digital Nomads, in partnership with Porto City Hall.

He has organized The Nomad World conference series across Europe and Latin America, consulted the governments of Portugal, Brazil and Rio de Janeiro on remote work policy, and spent five years building the rooms where the right people end up in the same city at the same time.

Porto AI Week is an extension of that practice — at city scale.

08FAQ

Questions, answered.

When and where is Porto AI Week?

Porto AI Week runs 14–18 September 2026 across the city of Porto, Portugal. It is decentralized: gatherings happen in studios, offices, venues and bars all over the city rather than in a single conference hall.

Is Porto AI Week a conference?

No. It is a city-wide week of independent gatherings organised under five tracks by independent hosts — AI Builders, AI Growth, AI Creators, AI Founders and AI Society. Anyone can host a gathering under the umbrella.

How much does it cost to attend?

There is no single ticket for the week. Each gathering sets its own access — many are free, some are invite-only or ticketed by their host. Join the waitlist to get the program drop and early access first.

What are the five tracks?

Every event belongs to one of five tracks: AI Builders (engineering and hands-on building), AI Growth (marketing, sales and distribution), AI Creators (design, media and content), AI Founders (startups, funding and indie hacking) and AI Society (ethics, policy and the human side). Tracks are labels and filters on the program — use them to find the rooms that fit you.

Is it in English?

Most gatherings run in English; hosts note the language on each event page. Porto is an international room.

How do I host a gathering?

Go to the Host page, pick the track your event belongs to, and tell us the idea. We review applications within 7 days and help with venue, promotion and connecting you to the right people.

I'm new to AI — will I be lost?

No. Most events are built for people getting started. If you're curious and new to the room, you're the person we built this for.

Can I speak at Porto AI Week?

Yes. Apply through the speaker form on the homepage. We look for practitioners with something specific and useful to share rather than generic keynote talks.

Do I need to register or can I just show up?

Register — it's free and takes a minute. Venues are real rooms with real capacity, and hosts plan on the count.

Can my company sponsor or partner?

Yes. Partners back the communities, not a billboard. Use the partner form to tell us what you would like to support and we will come back with options.

I have a space in Porto — can I offer it?

Please do. Use the venue form on the homepage. Studios, offices, galleries, rooftops and bars all work — capacity from 15 to 500.

Do I need to be based in Porto?

No. People travel in from across Europe and beyond. Porto is compact, affordable and walkable, which is exactly why the week works here.

How do I stay updated?

Join the waitlist. You get early access to tickets, the official program drop, and invitations to founder dinners. One email when it actually matters.
